Multiple Hosts General Info
DailyPB lets you add multiple hosts to a session. We call the host at the top of the list the Main Host, and all others Sub-Hosts. They differ in a few important ways.
Jump to:
Public visibility
Which host shows up publicly? Who is the Main Host? Can I choose which host is visible? Who gets the Message Host emails? Can a Sub-Host be the visible host? Who shows as the host on a session? Are Sub-Hosts visible to players? Does Message Hosts reach all the hosts? Are the other hosts CC'd on a message? Why does it say Message Hosts instead of Message Host?
On the session details, only the Main Host is shown as the host (along with any hosting group). There's no option to make a Sub-Host the one shown there.

The session details show the Main Host.
But the Sub-Hosts aren't hidden. When there are multiple hosts, the Message Host button in the Quick Actions row changes to Message Hosts, and opening it puts the Main Host in the To field with every Sub-Host added to the CC field. When someone clicks Send Message, all of the hosts receive it.

Message Hosts CCs every Sub-Host, so all of them are reachable.
Editing sessions
Can a Sub-Host edit the event? What can Sub-Hosts do? Do Sub-Hosts have full access? Can a Sub-Host edit an Interest List or Group? What can a co-host change?
Sub-Hosts can edit any session in which they're listed as a host.
Assets connected to a session (such as Interest Lists, Groups, and Email Templates) are visible to all hosts in the session editor, even if a host isn't an admin of that asset. However, modifying the asset's own details still requires admin access to it.
For example, if the Main Host has an Interest List linked to a session and a Sub-Host isn't an admin of that list, the Sub-Host will still see it as the linked Interest List, but can't modify the list without admin access.
Payments
Where do payments go with multiple hosts? Who gets paid? Can a Sub-Host receive payments? Who is charged the DailyPB fee? Where do automatic Stripe payments go? Can I send manual payments to a Sub-Host? Can a Sub-Host issue refunds? Can a co-host refund a player?
- Manual payment income: the platform and account that receive manual payments are set in the session settings and aren't tied to any one host, so you can set a Sub-Host as the recipient of manual payments.
- Manual payment DailyPB fee: the DailyPB fee for signups is tied to the Main Host's payment method and can't be moved to a Sub-Host. At the end of each month, the payment method on file for the Main Host (at the time of the transaction) is charged the total fees accrued that month.
- Automatic payments always go to the Main Host's Stripe account and can't be routed to anyone else. The Main Host can add, edit, or remove their automatic-payment settings from their profile.
Even though automatic payments route to the Main Host's account, Sub-Hosts can still issue refunds on the sessions they host.
